In honor of our Inked Issue our featured cigar this month is the Tatuaje Tattoo Caballero. Introduced in 2014, the Tatuaje Tattoo Caballero was the first vitola released in a new line of cigars by Tatuaje called Tattoo. Tattoo is the English translation for Tatuaje and it was also the name of a limited edition boxed pressed lancer released in 2011 by Tatuaje. This is, in my opinion, one of the best cigars you will find in the $5 price range.

Although Tatuaje Cigars are made by My Father Cigars, the Tattoo is made at Tabacalera Cubana (TACUBA) in Esteli, Nicaragua which is owned by the Garcia family.

Encased in a deep coffee brown wrapper, the Tatuaje Tattoo Caballero is a well constructed cigar with some slight marbling on the surface and few visible veins I started this cigar with a simple straight cut and from the very first draw the Tattoo was full of flavor. There were deep hints of cocoa and coffee and very subtle hints of spices.

The smoke was very full and creamy and not overpowering. As I continued to smoke the Tattoo the spices increased along with the cocoa flavor. The cigar also has a very fragrant aroma and definitely lends itself as a great morning smoke with a cup of coffee or a late evening smoke with a shot of your favorite Scotch.

As I moved into the final third of the Tattoo the flavors really picked up and the strength and body of the cigar intensified. This is definitely a very well made true medium to full bodied stick. Solid draw and burn throughout and a very smooth smoking experience with no relight necessary. This particular cigar was definitely well maintained and had nearly perfect ash.

If youre looking for a near perfect smoking experience in a very budget friendly price range I highly recommend the Tattoo. It is another great product offering from a very solid brand.

My recommendation is pair this with a nice glass of your favorite aged single malt and enjoy a good hour or so of total relaxation.
