Rocky Patel Super Ligero Robusto
Wrapper: St. Augustine Habano
This morning I decided to try something different and I had just picked up a Rocky Patel Super Ligero from Cigar Emporium in Houston and it has been calling my name since I purchased it. This is definitely not one for the weak. It is truly Rocky Patel's most full-bodied cigar to date and it features a strong blend of triple ligero tobaccos rolled in a sweet yet very spicy habano leaf and creates a strong flavorful smoking experience.
The cigar is a very well put together stick. Dark brown, rich and oily with minimal veins. It is also a very aromatic cigar with hints of cocoa and a strong earthy undertone.
The first pull greets you with full on flavor. You can taste the peppers and spices, hints of cinnamon and cocoa, woodsy undertones with a subtle sweetness all blended perfectly together. The burn and draw were perfect and created a rich creamy smoke.
This is indeed a full body cigar and I highly recommend making sure you have had a nice meal before partaking of this beautiful beast. The second third intensified in both strength and flavors and there were subtle hints of chickory that were very present for the remainder of the cigar. This is a perfect cigar to pair with your morning coffee or evening whiskey.
If you're looking for a complex flavored cigar with a very strong profile then I highly recommend the Super Ligero. This will definitely be a staple stick in my humidor.
